Frequently Asked Questions

• Land only Packages: If booking a 'land only' package , clients who wish to join the group arrival airport transfers are responsible for arriving a minimum of 2 hours before the air group and for going to the meeting point for the latter. If group air schedules change, we will make best efforts to notify 'land only' clients, but are not responsible, if this information cannot realistically be relayed in time. In some cases there will be an extra charge for transfers for land only clients.
  Cruise vacations have different transfer policies.

  (Departure from the hotel to the airport will only be at group times; 'land only' clients can choose at their risk to join this transfer. Again some departure transfers might incur a charge).

• How long have we been in business: since 1992 and we are a division of nationally known ABC Destinations. We are, via our affiliate, Club ABC Tours, a member of the Better Business Bureau of New Jersey and of IATAN.
• Prices: due to the size and buying power of our parent company, we offer the best prices in the market for small group, high quality adventures and cultural trips. We also offer spa trips at group discounts.
• Deposits: Our deposits and cancellation policies are very generous. See booking form for exact amounts and terms.
• Who is our competition: mainly much more expensive university,museum and private group trips.
• Ages:generally 30-65 but definitely some younger and some older. Most groups have a mix of ages.
• Who comes alone: lots of women come alone and feel absolutely welcome and safe. We send you a list of fellow travelers with your final trip package. Of course, one of the benefits of our group is you will make new travel friends, so some women are coming with friends they made on prior trips. We will always try to pair you with a share if you wish, see our terms for arranged shares.
• If you come alone, where do we meet up: We offer group and private transfers on all trips. We either meet in one US gateway or at the destination. We give you a list of those on your flight so you do not travel alone. Every aspect of our trips is created to make you feel taken care of.
• Size of group:average size is 15- 20ish. We don't take more than 25 and we went to Peru with only 6!
• Are we all single:our group is married, single---just women who love to travel.
• What level of hotels:we use 4-4 1/2 star hotels and in The Third World, 5 star.
• Where do we leave from:we usually have a choice of gateways which include NYC area, Miami or Atlanta, Cincinnati, Chicago and Los Angeles. It depends on our airline.
• Can I use Frequent Flier miles:usually and we give you a credit.
• Are trips escorted:we have professional guides who meet us at the destination. We have our own bus and our own guide plus sometimes local guides who specialize in a specific area. Complicated trips like India will also be escorted.
• What is a room share arrangement: we arrange room shares first come first served. We try to match age, travel experience or city. You will save money and make new friends. If there is an uneven number, someone sometimes gets a free single. There are singles also available at a supplement but we recommend you book early. We do not arrange shares for smokers.
• What are cancellation terms: we give you written terms and conditions and they are repeated throughout this site. We strongly suggest travel insurance if you are concerned about health etc. related to cancellation. We suggest you take it out with your deposit and we debit your credit card for it when you confirm you want insurance.
• What is included in a trip: each trip is different and we usually include some meals, 4-5 star hotels, sightseeing and evening entertainment if applicable, airport transfers, porterage, admissions. In remote places, we usually include all meals. Sometimes we have a speaker or visit to a special spot such as a private home.
• Where is the group from:we are from all states, several foreign countries, but none yet from Mars. This is a multi ethnic totally diverse group of women.
• How do I pay: we accept checks, VISA, Master card, Discover and American Express. There is a credit card form for you to sign when you use a credit card on the phone and your statement will read ABC Destinations LLC which is the name on our bank account.. We take a deposit and debit your card 90 days before the trip.. Checks can be written to The Women's Travel Club.
• Special needs: Feel free to ask us if we can cater to your special need.
• Miscellaneous and Men: families and men can participate in our discounts at spas and on cruises, but our land tours are exclusively women.We also arrange private groups for our members' families and organizations. Members may also travel with our affiliate Club ABC Tours.
